The name Gare d’Austerlitz was given to this station Napoleon won the Battle of Austerlitz. It was the first train station in Paris that abandoned steam trains to adopt the system of electric trains instead. This station is the starting point of the railway station i.e. the Paris-Bourdeaux railway. Since it is connected to the Toulouse line, a few trains that have to head to Toulouse also depart from Gare d’Austerlitz.

Tickets are valid for RER, SNCF trains and subway. The price of the ticket is 1.90€ per trip, although you can buy a 10-trip ticket for 14.90€ (-4.10€ discount). You can buy them at any Parisian station.
A taxi rank is available at Gare d’Austerlitz. It always has a large number of taxis available so you can get one at any time. If you want to visit the city center or explore the city then hiring a taxi is your best bet to getting around easily (but expensive).
